          DescriptionA portable anemometer, housed in a wooden case. The anemometer is made of brass, and is a windmill-type with perhaps two blades missing. The blades rotate within a brass hoop and as they rotate, turn a threaded rod in contact with a thin gear. The hoop, rotating rod and gear assembly are mounted on a self-supporting brass stand. One end of the stand has a moveable joint, which has a circular hole and screw-threaded adjustment knob, perhaps to mount the entire stand on a support rod.

          On one side of the brass stand is engraved, "N3," and on the other side, "A CLAIR A PARIS."
