DescriptionNine rectangular cards of dyed wool samples. Each card has five samples, each variations on a single color derived before or after a certain type of treatment; the samples are arranged in vertical bands of equal thickness, with space between them for the hand-written caption. Near the top of the card is the date, name of the color, and name of the dye manufacturer.

- name of color, such as: "Metachrome Green 3G Pat.", "290 Chrome Green F", "290 Milling Yellow O", "Metamine Lt. yellow 3G", "Acid Milling Yellow g", or "290 Milling Orange CC"
- name of manufacturer of dye, such as: "Geigy", "Sandoz", "Am. An. Prod.", and "U.S. Color "K""
