DescriptionA rectangular wood board (not original) is used to support the instrument while not in use. The instrument consists of a vertical brass tube on top of which is first a stopcock that controls the flow of gas. Over the stopcock is a rectangular gas chamber linked to a hollowed and removable pointer. The latter pivots over a brass quadrant divided in five-degree increments, marked every 10.
