Material
DescriptionA simple x-ray tube consisting of a central bulb and two side tubes at opposite ends. One side tube supports a concave metal electrode (focusing cathode) whereas the other end supports a metal plate at an angle at the center of the bulb (anode). There is a long, empty extension coming from the side holding the plate, making a curve to continue downward following the same axis as the electrodes.

Curatorial RemarksLikely made by Ducretet. See DW0213: acquired together and very similar.
Card mentions an enameled wood block weighted stand, which appears to be missing.
This was found in a box with other tubes; the storage dimensions are that of its individual wrapping, while those of the box are: 46.7 (length) x 33.3 (width) x 33.6 (height). The dimensions of the instrument are either conversions from the cards or approximations.
FunctionX-rays are produced when the electrodes are connected to a high-voltage source, with the concave one at the cathode end. Electrons from the cathode collide with the plate generating the x-rays.
The long empty side tube can be used for holding the tube and perhaps re-evacuation.
