DescriptionA large, heavy cylindrical bottle that turns on top at a right angle leading to a neck in the middle. It has two additional necks one on each side of the central one. The extra necks seem to have been added after the bottle was formed and are a bit of irregular shapes.

FunctionWoulff bottles have many uses related to gases. They work as an intermediate stage that a gas is made to pass through. Many times a liquid is present in the bottle and the gas is made to bubble through it, for instance to retain the gases that are soluble in it. One of the necks is sometimes used as a burner.
