DescriptionTelegraph apparatus mounted on a wooden, rectangular base -- a receiving instrument on the left half of the base and a sending instrument on the right half of the base. The sending instrument consists of a finger key mounted on the end of a curved, black metal bar. This bar is connected to a pair of crossed, black, metal bars, with adjustment knobs on the ends. Behind the sending instrument are two silver binding posts.
The receiving instrument consists of two vertical, metal cylinders (an electromagnet), sitting on top of a metal plate. The cylinders are connected on top by a black metal bar. There are brass arches in front and behind the cylinders, along with various adjustment dials.
