DescriptionRectangular decade resistance box with six dials, arranged in two rows of three. The dials are marked with resistances of .01, .1, 1, 10, 100, and 1000 ohms, and with steps numbered from 0-10, indicated by raised metal discs around the dial. There are also two small binding posts at the top.
These elements are mounted on a hard rubber panel attached by four large metal screws to a rectangular case with a wooden base and perforated metal sides.

FunctionSuch an instrument is used to measure the resistance of electric conductors. For a short general description and other images, go to the following website.
The decade name comes from the fact that the resistance is measured in single units divided by six dials, each a multiple of 10, from 0.01 to 999 Ohms.
