DescriptionBroken marble base with various nickel-plated switches and electrical components attached to top. Includes ammeter measuring -400 to +400 milliamperes, marked "Shunt Scale." Twin contacts at one end read "FARA P, N" and "GALV P, N." On tag in DPW's hand: "Galvano-Faradic Machine 1912 / for Medical Electrization [sic] and Faradization / used by Dr. (Karl) Dubpernell / All parts were carefully NICKEL-PLATED for impressive effect / 5/8/61 from George Dubpernell " On back: "Dr. Karl Dubpernell practiced in Detroit 1894-1955." Another tag has "from Mr. David P. Wheatland," with Wheatland's Perkins Hall address, on one side, and on the other: "Mr. William R. Feik / The International Nickel Co., Inc. / 67 Wall Street / New York / N.Y. 10005". Packed in heavy wood crate. Top side of crate has "PREPAID" shipping labels from R E A EXPRESS, shipped from The International Nickel Co, Inc., to Harvard University Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments (at Wheatland's address as written on interior tag). Note by hand on shipping label reads "DR. DUBPERNELL'S ELECTRIC THEREPY [sic] MACHINE."
