Material
DescriptionThis is a very finely made adjustable slit with a prism on a swing-away mount over it. The prism is missing, but would have been for use with a reference light source. There are also 4 tabs mounted across the slit, and each is hinged and can be lifted out of the way. The optical slit is adjustable by means of a micrometer screw with a silvered scale. The slit is mounted on the end of a brass tube. The tube has a split end and a locking ring with a screw.
