DescriptionThree stoppered glass bottles of ink. Special Ink No. 10 Purple is in a cylindrical cardboard carton that is cut at the midpoint. Purple Special Register Ink No. 60 is in a clear bottle with a cork stopper. Also containing ink is an unlabeled blue bottle with a stopper made most likely of rubber and metal. The stopper is topped with a circle with several bars through it and has a brush extending down into the bottle. A fourth ink bottle is green with a cork stopper.

FunctionJulien P. Friez was a maker of self-recording meteorological instruments, and these instruments, according to Friez's 1893 catalogue, used the "lately invented pen and ink attachment." Most likely, these ink bottles were to be used for self-recording meteorological instruments. See Julien P.
