DescriptionThis liquid cell is formed by two rectangular plates of glass with a thick U-shaped washer squeezed between them by means of two U-shaped blackened brass frames. There are four tightening screws. The washer is made of cloth-covered leather (or possibly rubber, now hardened). The base of the liquid cell has a wire spring between the washer and a strip of leather. The latter rests on top of two of the locking screws.
