Material
DescriptionThis is stand for supporting a diffraction grating, mirror, or similar optical component. It consists of a two thick brass disks held apart by three leveling screws and three spring-loaded screws. The screws are all on the underside of the lower disk. There is a rod in the center of the lower disk, too. The top disk is unobstructed. There is a central hole, 2 holes clustered on one side; 3 holes clustered on the other, and single hole near the edge.
With this stand is an unattached right angle bracket. The lower end has a screw hole for threading it onto a screw. The arm holds a finely threaded screw ending in an adjustable foot, which would have tightened down on a component.
The brass is all blackened and the knurling on the screws is cross-hatched.
