Description12 glass optical filters in a wood box. Three are in plastic sleeves and rest are unpackaged, though there are some empty plastic wrapping packets in the box. There are eight loose labels from Corning which appear to have once been attached to some of the filters.

When Houghton Library opened in 1942, Jackson invested in a lot of state-of-the-art equipment for examining books and investigating them. The apparatus included microscopes, black lights, and special lamps. This was one of them.
