        DescriptionA telephone transmitter, consisting of a short cylindrical nickel-plated metal base and fluted black hard rubber mouthpiece. On the faceplate of the transmitter base which is secured by four slot-headed screws, the company name is stamped on a textured background above the mouthpiece, "M & T," and below, "Pat. Allowed."

        A circular opening with raised lip is centered on the back face of the base, possibly where the mouthpiece was intended to be attached to a transmitter stand or box.

        A length of electrical wire, partially covered in disintegrating insulation, extends from an opening in the side of the base.
