DescriptionA mortar and pestle, made of metal. The mortar is tapered, narrowing toward the bottom, and is mounted on a round base. The base and the lip of the mortar have a rounded, decorative moulding. The pestle, a rod with a knob on each end, is smaller at one end and larger at the other, with correspondingly smaller and larger knobs.
The metal of both mortar and pestle is distressed and pitted, painted black with worn spots and rust.
