Pistor & Martins1841 - early 1870s

The origins of this firm goes back to Carl Philipp Heinrich Pistor (1778-1847), who opened an instrument workshop in Berlin in 1813. In 1841, Pistor went into a partnership with his son-in-law, Carl Otto Albrecht Martins (1816-1871). The Pistor & Martins firm remained in business until the early 1870s.

This firm is especially known for the production of large astronomical instruments, such as meridian circles.
