BiographyTom Scheinfeldt, Associate Professor of Digital Media and Design and Director of Digital Humanities in the Digital Media Center at the University of Connecticut.

Tom Scheinfeldt is Associate Professor of Digital Media and Design and Director of Digital Humanities in the Digital Media Center. Dr. Scheinfeldt received his undergraduate degree (A.B. in History and Science cum laude) from Harvard and his graduate degrees (M.Sc. in History of Science and D.Phil in Modern History) from Oxford. Formerly Managing Director of the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media at George Mason University, Scheinfeldt brings more than a decade of leadership in digital humanities research and management to UCONN. Scheinfeldt’s award-winning, grant-funded research projects include groundbreaking experiments in digital archives such as the September 11 Digital Archive [911digitalarchive.org]; scholarly open source software projects such as Omeka [omeka.org]; generative web events such as One Week | One Tool [oneweekonetool.org]; and boundarytesting efforts in scholarly communication such as THATCamp [thatcamp.org] and ConnecticutHistory.org [connecticuthistory.org].
