DescriptionA metal thermometer, mounted on a wooden base. The instrument consists of a bi-metal coil connected to an indicator which is positioned over a temperature scale. The expansion and contraction of the coil will result in the movement of the indictor over the scale.
In addition to a pointer attached to the coil, it is set up so that the pointer pushes on two additional pointers attached to the base, for registering the minimum and maximum temperature.
The scale is engraved in increments from 50 to 30 and is engraved,"Max. Min. / Centigrades"

FunctionThermometer. The metal strip is made of two different metals, which expand at different rates with a change in temperature. Hence the coil winds or unwinds a little, moving the pointer along. It also registers minimum and maximum temperature.
