DescriptionA long, thin thermometer made of a glass tube with a mercury capillary. It has a scale on milk glass calibrated from -0.6 to 106 degrees Celsius in intervals of 1 degree. It originally had a brass cap on the opposite end to the mercury reservoir, but it is now missing.

Curatorial RemarksThe thermometer's case describes a thermometer with a different temperature range. The sticker on the case mentions: "6° to 52° by 0.1°".
FunctionMost likely for measuring the temperature of liquids, with a range going from below the freezing point of water to above its boiling point.
