DescriptionA thermometer consisting of a thin glass tube with a mercury capillary inside a cylindrical glass container with a tip at one end ending in a sphere that holds the mercury reservoir, and a brass cap closing it at the opposite end. The thin thermometer is flanked by a porcelain scale calibrated from -30 to 40 degrees Celsius with a precision of 1/5 of a degree. The scale is marked "E" and "P" at its zero.
