DescriptionThis is an Abbe-type of drawing apparatus for a microscope. It consists of an Abbe prism mounted in a compact case that screws onto a microscope tube but can be swung out of the field of view for direct observation of the specimen.
An adjustable rectangular mirror is attached to a bar that is about 12 cm long and graduated in millimeters. The point of attachment is a rotating collar that indicates the angle at which the mirror is set. The other end of the mirror bar is attached to the the collar holding the prism.
There are two sets of filters to moderate the light passing from the mirror to the prism and the specimen to the prism. One set is mounted in a rotating collar in the prism case; the other in a revolving disc below the case.
