DescriptionThis is a Beck binocular compound microscope. The heavy brass instrument sits on a flat tripod-shaped base. The binocular draw tubes are adjustable by rack and pinion in the body tubes. The binoculars are attached to a revolving triple nosepiece equipped with three objectives (only two of them are by R. & J. Beck). Fine adjustment is by a knob located on top of the arm.
There is a circular stage with an aperture and an ivory-tipped screw for the slide holder. Substage equipment includes a parabolic reflector, iris diaphragm, holder for stops, and a mirror on an adjustable arm.
