DescriptionItem 1204a is a Beck polarizing compound microscope. It has a flat tripod-shaped base, a jointed arm, and a brass body tube equipped with a polarizer and a single objective. The coarse adjustment is by rack and pinion. The fine focus is by a knob on top of the post. A vertical illuminator attachment is fitted between the objective lens and the tube.
The microscope has a circular stage that rotates and tilts. Substage equipment includes a holder for disc diaphragms and lenses, and a mirror, all on an adjustable arm.
Item 1204b is a coaxial epi illuminator with several different adjustable mirror diagonals.
