DescriptionThis is a Swift & Son monocular compound microscope. The instrument is constructed of brass and a continental stand. The monocular body has a draw tube and a revolving triple nosepiece. The coarse focus is by rack and pinion. The fine adjustment is by a vertical screw on top of the circular post.

The microscope has a square stage with stage clips. The top of the stage has a grid finder engraved on the ride side. Fitted beneath is a swing-out substage mount with a plug in condenser with and iris diaphragm, and a swing-out filter holder. A substage mirror sits underneath on a fixed tube.

The instrument is supported by blacked base with raised legs.

There is an accompanying flat wooden case for storing the microscope and related accessories.
