DescriptionA rectangular bakelite box with a large circular hole crossing through its center. On its top side it has two pairs of electrical connectors, one labeled "PRIMARY" and the other "SECONDARY" with a large bakelite switch in the space between them from which one can select the settings 2, 5, 10 and 20.

FunctionA current transformer produces a current on its secondary circuit that is proportional to the one on its primary circuit, usually smaller. One can choose the reduction factor with the bakelite switch and if further reduction is needed, one would follow the instructions on the plaque.
