DescriptionThis instrument (0279b), a multiplier, is designed to work with the Weston Direct Reading Voltmeter (instrument 279a). Multipliers may be contained in the voltmeter case, but external multipliers, calibrated for a particular instrument, may also be used.
The instrument is cylindrical, and consists of a perforated metal cylinder topped by a flat, disk-shaped wooden top and base. The top has two binding posts, a push button and two metal brackets securing a leather handle.
