Material
DescriptionThe flood light is cylindrical in shape and rests on two feet made of transversal pieces of metal. Holes are visible, so the light could be bolted down on a solid surface.
One side has some electronics parts. The piece of electronics identified as Cornell Dubilier is a condenser. The patent number (1,345,754) refers to William Dubilier's condenser patented in 1920. This side is linked to an arm stretching inside the light. It provides the spark that ignites the inside gas, producing light. At the back of the cylinder is a silver concave mirror that reflects light forward through the sealed plexiglass window. A small threaded tube, now corked, was used to pump gas into the cylinder.
This light looks like it was shop built.
