          DescriptionDrum microscope of brass made in France but of the English pattern.

          It has two large oval apertures for accessibility to the stage and substage mirror. The body tube contains a two lens eyepiece, field lens, and one objective. Focus is by draw tube. Fixed stage is spring loaded for slides. Tiltable substage mirror is unusual in being covered with a convex lens over a back-silvered mirror.

          The instrument has a flat mahogany case with cushions of deep blue-green wool. Accessories include a thin watch glass; a brass tweezers; an oblong glass slide; and an ivory slide of prepared specimens.
