DescriptionThis is a Gaertner & Co. Comparator or a measuring microscope. The microscope tube is mounted on a plate which slides horizontally along a track in a frame operated by a micrometer screw and a graduated knob. The frame is supported by a thick cylindrical post, which is mounted on a cast iron block comprising the base. A glass stage sits on top of the base and there is a mirror beneath.
