DescriptionThis octagonal brass sundial has a highly decorated dial plate. There are floral motifs and a delicate border around the outer perimeter.

The compass is divided into four sections and has an eight-point wind rose at the center. The abbreviations for each cardinal direction are engraved in their corresponding quadrants. There is an arrow for magnetic declination at approximately 15° west, marked with an “S” at the arrow end and an “M” at the feathered end. The compass needle is arrow shaped.

The equatorial ring of this sundial is circular and engraved with an hour scale on the top surface. The hour scale is marked with Roman numerals III-XII-IX, with marks every half-hour. At the midnight position of the ring, there are small decorative engravings. The sundial's gnomon is a pin mounted to the center of a rotating bar that bridges the 6 o'clock hours..

The latitude arm is divided from 6° to 84° every 2°. The degrees are marked in units of ten.

The underside of the compass box is engraved with the names of 3 European towns.
