Description1997-1-0067b is a miscellaneous collection of vacuum tube sockets and related materials. It includes:
1) an early 20th century task light with a ceramic socket for a mogul-base light bulb.
2) a set of three vacuum tube sockets by Western Electric in black-enameled rectangular cases to which electrical contacts are applied. The sockets have bayonet mounts and spring contacts.

b) 4-prong socket: "TRANSMITTING TUBE SOCKET / SIGNAL CORPS U S ARMY / WESTERN ELECTRIC CO INC 205A." Stamped on housing: "PAT APPLIED FOR"
c) 4-prong socket: "VACUUM TUBE SOCKET / NO. 202 A / PAT. APPLIED FOR"
3) TYPE S E 1716 large vacuum tube socket, 4 prong, spring contacts, bayonet mount, on square vulcanite base
4) National Co. large tube socket, 4 prong, side spring contacts, bayonet mount, on round ceramic base. Signed "NC" in diamond logo.
5) National Co. large 5-prong tube socket with clips mounted on a triangular ceramic base. Signed between clips on top:" NATIONAL CO INC [?] MALDEN MADE." on underside: "NC" in diamond logo
6) 3-prong tube socket with clips mounted on a round flat ceramic ring, marked P-748 on top and CHU-49378-8 underneath. "H" in a circle on top.
7) 4-prong tube socket with spring clips, clear plastic marked "PACENT / SOCKET."
8) G. P. Co. cat. no. 8180, 4-prong tube socket with spring clips, ceramic collar and square base.
9) Alden Manufacturing Co. NA-ALD 4-prong vacuum tube socket, copper spring clips in plastic collar and base. Top side marked with "NA-ALD" logo and "PAT. PEND." Underside marked "BAKELITE" and "A. M. CO. / SPFLD MASS." With original hang tag from manufacturer; orange paper.
10) "P & S" ceramic Edison lamp socket, 660 W, 250 V, marked on underside P823H.
11) "P & S" ceramic Edison lamp socket, Mogul base, marked on underside NO 520 and P4171.
12) Bryant ceramic Edison lamp socket, 660 W, 250 V, copper contacts, "BRYANT" stamped on central one. Underside marked "MADE IN USA."
13) Northern Electric "Peanut Tube" socket, R 8400 in original box, underside marked in grease pencil "W E / 109A." Small 4-prong socket with spring contacts in black plastic; marked "N. E. Co. LIMITED." On box lid: "Northern Electric / MADE IN CANADA."
14) JFD lightning arrester, no. AT105, "Little Giant," for ribbon and oval jumbo twin lead, red bakelite, with grounding cable; all in original box marked "the secret is in the LIPS." Typed paper insert gives patent numbers and date of 1953.
