Description2 7/16" diameter brass Ring Dial (poke) made for latitude 50° by Johann Glocksbe
2 7/16" diameter brass Ring Dial. Time scale is in Arabic numerals subdivided into 1/2 hour increments on the interior surface of the ring. This ring dial has no moving parts and was cast flat with all its markings before being formed into a ring. There are two pin holes, one for use in the summer, one for use in the winter. With the dial suspended and oriented so that the sunlight falls through the appropriate hole, the point of light on the inside surface of the ring will indicate the time along the appropriate month marking.,Cast brass construction is unusual.,circular
