The timer dial, a rectangular metal plate, painted white, has circular scale marked in increments of 1 from 0-10, and a smaller inset circular scale, in increments of 10 from 0 to 110. Each scale has a single rotating pointer.
According to the patent application, the timer utilizes a vibratory mechanism, instead of a spring, allowing faster timing intervals.
In U.S. Patent filings, the device is described as a "Stop Watch Mechanism," Patent No. 1,509,899, September 30, 1924, Serial No. 455,805, issued to David W. Mann of Lincoln, Massachusetts.
