        DescriptionThe instrument consists of two long square wooden bars and a short square wooden cross-bar that connects them at one end. One long bar is fixed to the short bar in an L shape. The other bar is attached by a brass pivot with a wing nut that can be loosened, permitting rotation, and fixed to hold the bar at a desired angle. The opposite end of the pivoting arm has a black metal plate attached to the inside face with three screws that extends beyond the end of the bar to a hooked end. The other end of the fixed bar has a shorter black metal plate attached with two screws that extends slightly beyond the end of the bar to a point. The end of both wooden bars is angled.
