DescriptionA compact but heavy electric motor. It has a base that is narrow at its ends but widens in its middle section where it supports its two large field coils. The iron cores of these coils extend upwards around the motor's armature and they are joined at the top by a plaque with the manufacturer's signature and specifications. It has several binding posts that connect to relatively wide electrical cables. Most binding posts as well as other clamps to secure the instrument's parts close with butterfly screws.
The base has four holes (two at each end) to mount it.
