            DescriptionSmall, round General Electric D.C. voltmeter, U.S.N. (United States navy) type CG-22270, DW-41, model 8DW41. The round instrument display window has matte-finish anti-glare glass, and the dial is marked from 0 to 2.0, D.C. kilovolts. The dial has a center-mounted needle pointer.

            Object box includes a small sealed envelope of hardware.

On the reverse side, the instrument is marked in raised letters, "4120398," "BIN" and "BN" marked in white, and some illegible painted markings in yellow. A printed paper label on the side of the cardboard box reads, "GENERAL ELECTRIC (with centered logo between words) / MINIATURE INSTRUMENT / TYPE MODEL / RATING / REQ. / REMARKS / SCHENECTADY, N.Y. / N.P. 97629 / MADE IN U.S.A."
            Curatorial RemarksLikely made in Bridgeport, CT, like other GE meters with the same provenance. GE acquired the Bridgeport plant after World War II. Probably used in the Psycho-Acoustic Laboratory. See inscriptions on instrument WJ1288.
