DescriptionThe counterweight, beam, and trigger mechanism are set on a rectangular base. At least one leveling screw appears to be missing. The trigger mechanism is linked to a pull wire and finger stirrup. Moving the counterweight towards the end of the rod adds more strain. Since such an instrument was usually used for recording graphically the progressive fatigue of a contracting muscle, the finger movements here were probably recorded on a kymograph.
