DescriptionAn adjustable scale balance in a wood and glass case. The balance consists of a vertical brass column that holds a straight horizontal beam with a scale painted in white. At both ends of this beam it turns downwards at a right angle and then goes back to horizontal for a short stretch, from which hang the balance's trays. This last stretch lies between branches of a heavy iron bar that is held by the vertical brass column slightly lower than the balance's main beam. The balance's trays are held each by two curved metallic wires that support a base on which the trays are located.
The main vertical column is also attached to a horizontal tube that is fixed to both sides of the wood case.
