DescriptionRectangular sleeve composed of two paper rectangles, held together at all four corners by circular brass fasteners and containing a paper slide.
The face of the sleeve is printed with three tables, stacked vertically. The top table is labeled for "COAXIAL / V.P. 65.9%" cable, the center table for "TWINAX / V.P. 65.9%" cable, and the bottom for "LOW / CAPACITANCE / COAXIAL" cable. Each table has 15 columns containing data pertaining to particular cable models. In all three tables, in place of the fifth column, for "D.B. / PER / 100 FT.," is a slot through which the slide can be seen. The same is true for the thirteenth column, "WATTS / INPUT," in the top table only.
Above each table is a diagram of the relevant cable type, with arrows pointing from the sixth through eleventh columns to parts of the cable. These are: "INNER / CON- /DUCTOR"; "DIALEC- / TRIC / NOM O.D."; "INNER SHIELD"; "OUTER SHIELD"; "VINYL JACKET"; and "NOM / O.D.," respectively.
Above the three tables is a square hole, labeled "M.C." To the left of the hole is printed, "SELECT TO FREQUENCY / AND SELECT CABLE." Below the three tables is "NOTE--*When characteristics are similar, give prefer- / ence to cables marked by an asterisk (*)." To the right of the tables is a "LEGEND," listing the meanings of a number of abbreviations.

FunctionFor selecting the RF cable and connectors to be used at a particular radio frequency.
The user first moves the slide to left or right until the appropriate value for frequency is visible through the square hole on the slide's face. He then selects the cable model that will meet his requirements in terms of cable type (coaxial, twinax, or low capicitance coaxial) and power ("D.B." and "Watts Input" columns).
Next, the user turns over the slide rule and moves the slide to left or right such that the cable model number he selected is visible through the square hole on the slide's back. The black dots in the third column of the adjacent tables indicate the complementary connector models.
