      Material
DescriptionTwo (nearly) identical arrays. Each is made up of two braces -- rectangular, with a broad shallow arc cut out of the bottom -- and five white spools.

Each brace has one metal L-shaped component near each outside corner. These components are screwed into the braces; they are not screwed into a presumed base. Each brace also features a row of five holes corresponding to the five spools.

Each spool is made up of thirteen white discs connected in a line. Several (if not all) of them contain an aligned slit. The 'first' disc in each is numbered in pencil on 'top'. (The numbering starts at 1 and goes up to 9, with the last spool's number is not visible.) Many of the discs are slightly discolored. Some have light brown patches, and some darker ones. Connecting the discs is an axle-like rod, which runs through the holes in both braces. (On both sides of both holes are nuts to keep the spools in place.)

Thin bare wires are soldered in place so as to connect a nut on one brace to the next nut on the other.

Inscribedon coils, hand-written: [all coils are numbered from 1 to 10]

FunctionWithin both of these arrays, the spools (and hence the wires coiled around them) are set up in series. Also, if the user so willed, the arrays could be similarly set up. This device's function is not known.
