Along the top edge of the slot is a scale for "PIPE SIZE", with values descending from 48'' to 4''. Along the bottom edge of the slot is a scale for " "K" VALUE", with values ranging from .001 to 100. Above the slot, printed on the sleeve, is a scale for " "C" VALUE", carrying values from 30 to 200. Near the 140 mark is a red arrow pointing down. Below the slot is a black arrow pointing up.

On the back ("FRICTION LOSS CALCULATOR" side) of the sleeve are three additional horizontal slots. Through the top slot, one scale printed on the slide is visible. Labeled "VELOCITY / ft./sec." and adjacent to the top edge of the slot, this scale has values ranging from .10 to 10. Printed just above this, on the sleeve, is a scale for "PIPE SIZE", with values ranging from 4'' to 48''.

Printed on the slide along the top and bottom edges of the center slot are scales for "MILLIONS OF GALLONS PER DAY". The top scale has values ranging from .010 to 2.0; the bottom scale has values ranging from .15 to 30. Above the center slot is a scale for "PIPE SIZE", with values ranging from 4'' to 18''.
