DescriptionThe lens drops into a ring on the end of an arm at the top of a post. This post goes into the pillar and is adjusted up and down by rack and pinion hidden inside. A knurled thumbscrew is on either side of the post to focus the microscope by means of the rack and pinion.
The square stage is fixed to the pillar. It is blacked and has two brass stage clips. Below the stage is a rotating diaphragm wheel.
There are two blackened hand rests.
The substage mirror is single-sided and concave. Its fork pins into the base.
The base is teardrop shaped and weighted with lead.
The fitted case is made of mahogany. Red wool cloth is the padding.
