          DescriptionSmall drum microscope in the English pattern. Circular brass base. Plane mirror in cutaway lower portion of the hollow cylindrical post. Black-painted circular stage, with white corrosion. The upper portion of the post has a draw tube with the eyepiece on top and objective below.

          The instrument comes with a flat, fitted case of simple wood. Accessories include a single ocular and objective; brass tweezers; a 6-inch steel upholstery needle; a flower specimen, dried, in a corked glass vial; 2 plain glass slides; and a prepared slide of silk cocoon, which is paper wrapped and labeled in French.

          There is a fragment of a paper envelope with the business name and address of Herrn Wilhelm Sattler.
