DescriptionFrom Instrument Card: "4 turn coil of heavy copper wire mounted on a rectangular wooden base. Designed to have a magnet moved up and down in the center of the coil."

FunctionTo demonstrate an induced current by a moving magnetic field. For this purpose, the binding posts would probably be connected to a galvanometer. The galvanometer's needle would move as one moves a magnet through the coil.
