Material
DescriptionThis device was probably designed to fit over an optical tube. It is an adjustable slit. The slit itself is made of two parts, each independently controlled by a screw and spring mechanism. After light passes through the slit, it goes into the hollow tube. The screw on the bracket was probably used to hold another device in place in front of the slit (perhaps a lens, a filter, a polarizer, etc.).
