DescriptionA black plastic cylinder, with a slight groove near the top. A little more than a third of the way down is a black rim. A black boxy handle is hooked into two loops embedded in the rim. The mouth of the cylinder is wide. The inside of the cylinder is shiny (presumably made of dewar) and hollow. The lid, which is also black on the outside, is white on the inside. Both the cylinder's lid and its inside rim are threaded to screw into one another. About a third of the way up from the bottom of the cylinder is a red and white label. The label is very close to being a rectangle, but is in fact a pentagon.
Signedlabel on flask: DILVAC / (R)
            Inscribedlabel on flask: DILVAC / (R) / DEWAR FLASK / AND / CONTAINER / No. 990/222 / REFILL NO M470/222 / MADE IN ENGLAND
FunctionIt is not known what this flask was used for. Perhaps to store specimens in liquid Nitrogen, or to freeze specimens for investigation or microtome. Then again, it may have kept someone's lunchtime borscht cool.
