DescriptionPolarizing eyepiece designed to be hand held up to the tube of the optical instrument.
The eyepiece consists of a brass drum with knurled rims. The flat surfaces are blackened. The drum is formed of two cylindrical halves that slide together. Each half has a rectangular window with an angled piece of glass mounted along one side. The two halves are pushed together in such a way that the glass mirrors are parallel to each other. Light passing through the eyepiece is polarized by reflection from the mirrors.
A brass adaptor tube is attached to one side of the drum. It has an outer diameter of 1 inch.
