FunctionAccording to the Cenco catalogue description: "[This bench support was designed] for assembly of the light source and other accessories, such as light shields, diaphragms or lenses, to provide a suitable illuminating system, as required by the nature of the work to be done with No. 12315 'Spectrophotelometer.' When used with No. 85802 Tilting Carriage or No. 85804 Non-tilting Carriage, the components of the system can be adjusted so easily without shifting form the optical axis of the system that the bench is practically an essential accessory to the 'Spectrophotelometer.' Finished in baked black wrinkle enamel. [...]"
