DescriptionA metal beam balance scale by Central Scientific Co. Consists of a white circular plate of enamel or ceramic on which to position objects to be weighed. The plate is supported on a column, connected to a set of three parallel beam arms on which three movable counter weights of various sizes can be positioned. The beam arms are inscribed with scales and their ends extend to an opening in a supporting column, through which they can move up or down.
