DescriptionA hydrometer consisting of a glass tube with three distinct sections: 1) A thin stem with a rolled piece of paper inside that has a scale graduated from -5 at the top to 20 at the bottom. 2) a large, egg-shaped bulb filled with air that connects to the stem at the top and has a straight narrow neck at its other end which is painted red and leads to the third section. 3) a smaller bulb in the shape of an arrowhead that is filled with mercury.
The hydrometer is contained in an elegant wood case that follows the contours of the instrument.
